भारतीय वायुसेना के पायलट ग्रुप कैप्टन SHUBHANSHU SHUKLA को अंतरराष्ट्रीय अंतरिक्ष स्टेशन के लिए एक मिशन के लिए चुना गया है। आज ग्रुप कैप्टन SHUBHANSHU SHUKLA अंतरिक्ष में जाने वाले केवल दूसरे भारतीय नागरिक बन जाएंगे। जो भारत के लिए बहुत गर्व की बात है। शुभांशु शुक्ला आईएसएस का दौरा करने वाले पहले भारतीय अंतरिक्ष यात्री हैं, और अंतरिक्ष यात्री राकेश शर्मा के बाद कक्षा में जाने वाले दूसरे भारतीय हैं।
शुभांशु शुक्ला का विवाह पेशे से दंत चिकित्सक डॉ कामना मिश्रा से हुआ है, जो स्कूल में शुभांशु की सहपाठी थीं। दंपति का एक बेटा है। उनके पिता शंभू दयाल शुक्ला एक सेवानिवृत्त सरकारी अधिकारी हैं और उनकी मां आशा शुक्ला एक गृहिणी हैं। वह तीन भाई-बहनों में सबसे छोटे हैं।
